THE 6th ANNUAL WESTFIELD EASTER EGG DROP RETURNS TO GRAND PARK
Westfield, IN – The Westfield Easter Egg Drop is back for the 6th year and it’s bigger and better than ever! This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 26th, at the Grand Park Sports Campus in partnership with the City of Westfield and local churches.
The Westfield Easter Egg Drop is one of the largest Easter Egg hunts in Indianapolis, drawing over 4,500 people every year. The Egg Drop is a huge draw in the community. Pre-registration for last year’s event filled up in less than 12 hours!
The event is free (for pre-registered participants only) and, in addition to the egg hunt, features inflatable bounce houses and slides, face-painting, photo booth pictures, carnival games, and an inflatable toddler area.
The highlight of the Westfield Easter Egg Drop occurs when the helicopter flies over and drops thousands of plastic Easter Eggs on the fields for the Egg Hunt. Children are released for their age-specific egg hunts after which they return the eggs they collected to the redemption area in exchange for candy and prizes. Over 30,000 eggs are used between the two drops in this year’s event.
The 2017 Westfield Easter Egg Drop will feature 140 volunteers from 7 Westfield churches and organizations including NSPIRE Church (formerly Imagine & CitySpring), Christ United Methodist, Paradox, LifePointe, Westfield Friends, Lord of Life Lutheran and volunteers from Westfield Welcome. The event is hosted at Grand Park in partnership with the City of Westfield and local event sponsors.
Last year was the first time that the event featured two separate drops (morning and afternoon) on the same day and this year’s event will as well. Between the two egg hunts, this year’s event has open registration spots 1,600 children.
The registration code for this year’s Easter Egg Drop will go out in the March 28h edition of the Westfield and Carmel Current. Pre-Registration for Westfield residents will begin on March 28 with open registration on March 30.
“Our church has enjoyed hosting this amazing community event for the last five years and I am positively thrilled to work with area churches in Westfield to make this year’s our best yet! Working together to serve our community is what church is supposed to be about!” – Brad Ruggles, Formation Pastor, NSPIRE Church
“Our church looks for ways that we can come together with others instead of finding reasons to divide. This event is a perfect example of the churches in our community coming together to serve our city.” – Matt Gaylor, Engagement Pastor, NSPIRE Church
“The Westfield Easter Egg Drop is an event that brings the community together. Now that the Westfield Easter Egg Drop is doubling the number of attendees, Grand Park is the perfect place for families to gather and enjoy the holiday in a unique and fun way. We look forward in continuing this successful partnership with our Westfield churches.” – Andy Cook, Mayor of the City of Westfield
“Working alongside the nearly 30 dedicated volunteers that make up the Westfield Easter Egg Drop Steering Committee and Team Leaders has been fantastic! Our months of planning and hard work are leading up to an awesome and fun-filled family event and I can’t wait to see the smiling faces of over 1,500 children on March 26th as they watch Easter eggs fall from the sky! My work with our sponsoring partners has reinforced my belief that our community network is strong and committed to making Westfield a wonderful place to live.” – Spencer Fairfax, Steering Committee/Sponsorship Coordinator
“I have had the extreme pleasure of watching The Westfield Egg Drop grow from a smaller event located behind Oak Trace Elementary to what it is today at Grand Park. Every year I am amazed at the wonderful volunteers that come together to serve our community.” – Jessy Cole, Event Coordinator
“The Lord of Life Lutheran church family is glad to be part of this event where we can create ‘community’ among all the families of Westfield. We look forward to fostering an ongoing connectedness in our Westfield neighborhoods in which we live, play, work, serve, and worship together.” – Tim Krupski, Lead Pastor, Lord of Life Lutheran Church
Past participants have said,
“All of the volunteers did an excellent job. From the time we arrived until the time we left the parking lot you could see how well organized the event was. As we left, our kids were already asking if we could do it again next year.”
“All of the volunteers were so friendly and helpful, setting a great atmosphere for the exciting event.”
